The India Mark II family of hand pumps is developed as low cost option for rural water supply programme. The pump is specially designed for the prolonged and continual community use in demanding conditions. Besides India, the India Mark II Hand Pump is used through out the world in many developing countries including in Asia, Africa and Latin America to pump water from the deep bore wells.

The India Mark II hand pumps manufactured and supplied by the SPAN PUMPS confirm to Bureau India Standards IS: 15500-2004 and amended up to date. At the SPAN PUMPs these pumps are manufactured adhering to strict internal quality control system to ensure trouble free service in the field.

» India Mark III(65mmOTC)VLOM Deep Well Hand Pumps

India Mark III---IS 15500-2004 amended up to date. The India Mark III VLOM deep well hand pump design uses an open top cylinder, which allows servicing and replacing the cylinder components with out taking out riser pipes from a bore well. Use of the VLOM pump thus reduces requirement of heavy tools, skilled hands and time required for break down repair.

Since the cylinder can be serviced using simple tools, users including women can be trained for the repairs. Hence the pump is named as Village level Operation Maintenance Pump.

Options
The India Mark III VLOM deep well hand pump is available in two options.

India Mark III 50 mm OTC VLOM Pump: The India Mark III 50 mm OTC VLOM PUMP has been design for use with 50mm OTC cylinder and 50 mm diameter riser pipes. The pump can be used either with GI or uPVC pipes. With GI pipes the pump can be installed up to 60 m. With the uPVC pipes the pump can be installed up to 45 m.
India Mark III 65 mm OTC VLOM Pump: The India Mark III 65 mm OTC VLOM PUMP has been design for use with 65mm OTC cylinder and 65 mm diameter riser pipes. The pump can be used either with GI or uPVC pipes. The pump can be installed up to 45m.

Conforming to IS: 15500-2004 standard, India Mark III hand pump has open top cylinder (OTC), which facilitates pulling out of plunger assembly. It also assists in changing valve assembly from the cylinder without pulling out the cylinder. In this hand pump, 50-mm diameter GI/UPVC pipes are used.
