Normal hand pumps pump water from a bore well and deliver at ground. Force and lift hand pump can pump water from a well to an over head tank directly. The pump is manually operated and is very useful to lift water for storage and distribution where electric supply is not available.

The force and lift hand pump can be easily modified as a bore well power pump with out major changes. A suitable submersible pump is installed bellow the hand pump cylinder on the same riser pipes and the out let of the OHT is connected to a stand post. When the electric supply is not available the force and lift pump can be operated as normal thus ensuring continual water supply even in absence of the electric supply.
